Crypto payments

How crypto payment works at Hostwinds

You start a crypto payment by hand from an unpaid invoice in the Hostwinds Client Area and finish it in Stripe's checkout. You must send the exact token, network and amount to the address Stripe shows, before the checkout timer runs out. The invoice counts as paid only after Stripe confirms the payment. A blockchain confirmation alone is not enough.

Accepted cryptocurrencies

  • USDC
  • USDP
  • USDG

Via Stripe Crypto, stablecoins only: USDC (Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Base), USDP (Ethereum, Solana), USDG (Ethereum). Hostwinds' docs specifically say BTC, ETH, USDT, TRX, LTC and DOGE are NOT supported. The coins and networks you can use are the ones Stripe shows at checkout.

Good to know before you pay

  • Crypto can't be used for automatic recurring billing, so you pay each renewal invoice yourself.
  • Crypto payments are non-refundable, and if Stripe can't confirm a payment, Hostwinds can't give a refund or account credit.
  • Sending an unsupported coin or network, reusing an old address, or paying after the checkout expires can mean losing the funds for good.
  • Hostwinds says to send one payment per invoice. Don't cover several invoices with one transfer.
